Default Upgrading

This is my current configuration. I bought this computer in 1999. It is WAY out of date and time to upgrade again.

K7 MSI board, 1.5ghz (over clocked to 1.7) AMD, 640 Ram, Radeon 9800 128 video, SB live, Win XP Home.

This computer is a dog. I built this computer up from scratch with all the best components available at the time.

I came here to get some advice about my next upgrade.

I am looking at either an AMD 6000+ or Intel E6700.

I am going to be installing 2gb ram, Monsoon II water cooling, 8800 GTS.

Depending on the CPU, I will either be using a Foxconn or 680 Sli.

I will be overclocking to stability ceiling.

Windows XP will be reinstalled (Vista will not be used until I am forced into it).

The question being, which processor is more likely to last me another 9 years? Or atleast 5 years.

I am also a little unsure how big of a power supply I will need for this setup with casefans, one HD, and a few other things. I was leaning toward a 800w power supply.
