Default Can xp prof be upgraded to xp media ?

I recently upgraded to xp pro. I'm looking for a decent tv card and noticed some offering support for xp media center. I'm naturally questioning whether I should have gotten xp media . I was so good investigating every component when building my first pc .Ahhgg but the OP-ER-ATE-ING system. This one got away from me i think. any suggestions for a not too expensive pci card for xp pro?

mediaportal is a good free media center app

it sometimes "loses" some memory, and crashes on occasion, but it's free

the best media center is tvedia, tho

it's not free, tho
