I used to use Ventrilo, and thought it was the Bee's Knees but after Trying Team Speak i thought it was much better, the User Side of the server is much more manipulateable, the Admin Part of the server is great, maintenance is so much better than the Ventrilo one with much more features and Users can Register so you know who visitis your server.
IMO Team Speak overcomes Ventrilo in all aspects.

http://www.goteamspeak.com/index.php?page=blog i couldnt find any info on when it is being released. But TS3 looks really really good, i mean immense, it says they are putting BBCode into the text to make it more manipulateable!!!
