Default Comp not reading hardware...

Man, I wasnt really sure where to put this, but anyway I am having a problem with my computer reading hardware. When I try to plug in my cam quarter via firewire, it would normally say "New hardware has been detected", then I would start uploading on WMM. But now, it wont even detect the camera. The same thing would happen if I were to unplug my mouse and plug it back. But, it doesnt say anything about new found hardware. Someone PLEASE help me ou, I have had this problem for about 2 weeks.

My first thing i would do is restart the computer.

Or go to control panel>system>device manager>locate which firewire port your using>right click and view properties to see if theres anything wrong.

Reply which ever did anything.

Was there any cds or anything that came with it?
