Default Very Slow Internet

Hi,

Recently my internet has been very slow. I have cable so up until recently it has been running pretty fast. I was using Internet Explorer and switched to Mozilla Firefox to see if it would make a difference, none whatsoever. Anyways, I thought it may be from a bug or virus but I don't think it is because I regularly run Ad-Aware SE Professional. It will often load the page backgroud, and maybe a couple of headings and then it will just stop. For example, on this website, all I got was the Computer Forum on top and the "Computer Forum - Archive - Apply for Moderator - Leaderboard - Advertise" and then it just stopped.

What can I do to hopefully make it faster?

Thanks!

I remember hearing from a good friend that Panda Scan, the one that's free on the internet, can get rid of most viruses. Will, I tried that and I can't even download it. I'm desperate!

Okay, my internet seems to be loading much fast now but I still have a problem. At times, it seems that the internet service isn't working but then a few minutes later it will start working again. One example of this is when I'm on AIM. It will disconnect for a minute, and then reconnect again.

I'm puzzled because this isn't happening to anyone else at my house. Can a virus do this? I wouldn't think so, but I wouldn't really say I'm an expert on this matter.

Thanks!
