Default Heads up! US Supreme Court ruling kills discounting!

This is not a joke. If you live in the US and you need to buy computers or parts, you'd better buy them NOW.

What does this mean? Bluntly, manufacturers can now tell retailers how much they can sell their goods for, or not sell them at all. This overturns a 96 year old antitrust law.

Manufacturers can now legally forbid retailers from offering discounts on their products. Justice Kennedy says that competition can come from offering retailer services. Like what?? Free shipping? Extended warranty? Free installation? Anything but a lower price!

Nice how they slipped this in under the radar with all the flak about immigration!

I wonder how, if in any way, that will affect retailers outside the US? As a lot of big-name manufacturers are based there.

It probably won't. This only applies to US retailing.
God, I miss Canada.
