Default Is it possible to get 2512 megs of ram?

My old mother board said it supports up to 3 gigs of ram. It has 3 slots. I just got done upgrading from 1 gig (2x512) to 2 gigs(2x1gigz). I don't know what to do with the extra ram. Could I just stick one 512meg ram along with the 2 gig of ram ?

well technically 1 gig = 1024mb so you probably meant to say, is it possible to get 2560megabytes of ram.

Yes as long as your motherboard and your OS support it, it will work fine.
