Default Microsoft Office

I was wondering if you could help me.

I am looking for a Microsoft Office Package for my laptop... do I have to buy it (cos it seems really expensive) or are there any other ways. I can't really download at home. I keep seeing these different versions on Ebay like Open office and I was wondering if they were any good.

Thanks for nay suggestions you may have!!!

They seem to be selling a variety of their own software, but why pay for something that OpenOffice does for free?

I agree, I would take the free route but that was already mentioned and I was giving another option.
