hi all, first post here.

ive just come back from a weekend away, while i was gone the following has apparently happened.
my wife turned off my computer due to a thunderstorm, when she turned it back on it started doing funny things, she realised the f9 and f10 keys were stuck and it apparently took the computer into some kind of recovery mode.
anyway, somehow all my desktop settings have been changed, all my files have been deleted....months/years worth of business pics and videos, not all backed up. all my accounting software which fortunately was backed up to date. all my email programs have been stripped of information also. needless to say im fairly stressed. are these files actually likely to nbe anywhere? ive done a search for all picture files including hidden files on my computer and nothings come up so im assuming the worst...i just dont know why.
i have another question regarding formatting but i'll make a new thread
