1. Well, you never said what your normal motherboard was. So we cant tell you if they are compatible.
2. Since you said "mobile" processor, I am going to assume its a laptop processor. And if it is already in the laptop, then theres a very good chance you cannot take it out and put it into your desktop.

Agree with post above. The voltages are different too and you might fry something.

I've heard of people installing the mobile 754 4000+ in their desktop boards, but I can't say for sure if it will work.

It should work as long as the socket is the same ( circuit city did it with my old comp)
