Default can i make things bigger on my monitor

hey i am looking into purchase this monitor for my 8800gts

you know how if you put resolution on its max things get smaller if i put resolution lower will it get bigger so i can see everything good at a not to far distance

The lower the screen resolution the closer everything becomes. But with that large of size usually that will require a minimum. 1366 x 768 is the recommended while you shouldn't see any problems with a lower setting in games themselves.

You can alter text size and icon size. It would be a waste to have a monitor that supported a high rez but you use a smaller one to see better.

lol but if i put it on high and im sitting back 10 feet im guessing i wont beable to see the ie, star menu e.c.t, does any one have a 27-32" screen witth a picture on there computer of it focused on the destop backround

also you know how the 8800gts comes with hdtv cables on the evga 8800gts 640mb how do i connect it to the screen and the wires are really small, do i need another wire, i have a hdmi plug would this work fine , show me a link with a wire that will make me get high definition
