just got a new setup creative soundblaster Live! 24 bit 7.1 with logitec 5.1 surround speakers, sony viao.
installed software, plugged it in the way creative manual said. nothing, but if it makes any difference its plugged-in almost touching my video card, and next to my wireless internet card. Last edited by computationator; 02-23-2005 at 06:14 AM. |

I feel that a bad pci slot is actualy indeed a rare thing. I have seen perfectly good working cards though fail to work in one slot but work in another while the previous slot was still a good functioning slot for somthing else.
I would uninstal the drivers for whatever cards you have there and switch them about and reinstal drivers and then I'd cross my fingers ;-). if the slot appears to work after this but the card still does not function then return it for an exchange. This is assuming of course that you test your speakers and they turn out to be functioning ok which really should be the first step.
