Default Disk Defragment

Ok, Computer is starting to run slow and lagg and anoy me.

I have been copying huge files from hard drive to hard drive, I was wanting to know weather i would Benefit from doing disk Defragment on my hard drives.

Yeah definitely, It should improve the seek times on your HDD if you havnt defraged in a while.

Yes, as would a Disk Cleanup and clearing all Cookies and Temporary Internet Files via Internet Explorer

I use FireFox, But it's anoying as i cannot do more than one defragment at once...

I now have 3 x 320gb Seagate SataII's

So this is going to take ages...

I have a mate that uses disc keeper. There are free trial versions on the net. You might want to have a look and see what thats like.

You can clear firefox stuff too... If I remember correctly it was CTRL-SHIFT-DEL. You might have to 2x check though. After your defrag once, in my experience, defragmenting after that first time will be quicker and easier.

PS: Why not hook some of those HDDs onto another computer and Defrag em from there?

Yea, its CTRL-SHIFT-DEL, And its Defragging now, i'm on Remote Desktop Connection from my server atm... haha, entertaining, im gonna leave it on over night, To do I:/ (Your C:/) Its a 270gb Partition, so that will take a few hours...

Then get the rest started tomorrow.

My 80Gig takes less than 20minutes, my 120Gig is less than 30minutes. Shouldnt be more than 2 hours for your good this Defrag is automatic
