computer audio problem- please help

I have a Fujitsu lifebook thats a few years old and recently the sound completely stopped working. I ran the trouble shooter and make sure that all the drivers were connected and enabled and obviously that the sound was unmuted and on but it still doesn't work. I have tried plugging in external speakers but that hasn't worked. I figure that there must be an issue with my sound card. Any advice on how to fix this problem? thanks

well if ur warrenty is up buy a new sound card i guess.. if all ur sound drivers are installed and working and external speakers dont work its a card problem

could be a problem in the motherboard if its mobo audio

oh yeah its a laptop.. they have inbuilt sound on the mobo! your motherboards prolly got a crack or shorted circuit.. have u dropped it?

might be a loose header. look into someone who deals in replacing the motherboard parts for your specific laptop or get USB speakers?
