There are two ways to fix it. First, you can use Windows Update with the mouse attached to see if Windows can find a driver for it.

If that doesn't work, open your Device Manager and see if there are any yellow attention icons. If there are, right-click on that device and update the driver. If you have a CD for the mouse, insert it when prompted and you should be good-to-go.
