Default cpu 56c at load

ok guys i could do with some help...my comp lags like hell when my cpu temps gone up say when im gaming on warrock.



the temp still remained at 56c 5 minuites after i quit the game and left it idle
do i need a better cpu cooler?
its the stock cooler that came with the system 4 years ago lol..i suppose the thermal pad gives up after a few years

is it a new cooler i need or just some new thermal paste to replace the pad?

whats the max temp a sempy 2800+ can take before it fries?
btw,i wont reply for ages after ive posted this...im off to bed

Look at your CPU fan rpm it's at 879. Is it a 60000mm fan or something? Even a 120mm should be around 1800rpm. I believe those semprons are technically 'ok' to 85C but you should keep them, and any other CPU for that matter, as cool as possible. A new cooler might be in order, or just a new fan on it.

Yea the CPU cooler fan is running way to slow for it being at 56C. Mine slows down to around 700rpms but I have air in the room and the cpu is at 29-30C idle

ok thanks il turn my cpu fan up to 100% in speedfan when i game,the fastest it goes according to speedfan on 100% is around 2136RPM

but ive noticed something,Shouldnt your system automaticly turn up the fans speed if the systems getting hot?

mine doesnt they just stick at those speeds shown on the image above unless i manualy change them in speedfan

Yours probably won't have AMD's Cool n' Quiet enabled. I think that is a relatively new technology for both companies. My old Celeron never used to do it. But then again idle was 46C.

Hi GCR,Where do i check to see if my system has Cool n' Quiet?

it probably doesnt because its an old system but if it does i could enable it

Cool & Quite is not the same thing, I have it disabled. Look in your bios to see if you have a CPU fan speed setting depending on your CPU temps. Cool & Quite lowers your CPU voltage and X when your CPU is not working
