im going speak honestly as an unbiased pc user that admires macs coding. tiger is the faaaar superior os. i am currently running vista and i know its still new and there will be alot of upcoming updates to make things better but heres the bottom line....vista as with alot of microsoft apps (minus the coding done for xbox's) is just extremely unefficient. it requires fast hardware for basically the same apps as tiger can run on much slower and lower spec hardware. i was really hoping that microsoft was going to take a page from apples book and completly redo their windows from the code up. make it efficient and more powerful at the most basic level...the code itself. unfortunatly they didnt do this and you get a program that uses half of your memory just sitting at idle and upon installation is running 46 processes. now i know that i am new to vista and dont know all the ins and outs so if im wrong i hope someone corrects me so i can figure out how to make vista more efficient, but heres the bottom line. mac knows how to make a OS that out of the box is one of the most efficient and easy to use OS's out there, microsoft simply tries too hard to emulate the fancy look of tiger without really looking at the basics that makes tiger great....its efficiency. bottom line if you have a choice of running either os the for gods sake go with tiger. but if you run a pc then vista is not horrible....its just new...and as with any new os mr. gates cranks out there are always bugs to work out....and most of them will be worked out by the time the next version of windows comes out. i hope this helps you and just doesnt confuse you even more
