Default graphics card issue, laptop now not usable

After updating the bios on my alienware laptop, i restarted, to find that the resolution was set to 800x600, and the bit was set to 4, with no way of changing them. I looked further, to find that my graphics adapter has NO MEMORY! This is obviously an error. Alienware told me they would ship another gforce 6600, but I am wondering if just re-installing vista might help.

Should i wait for the card, or re-install?

Try a reinstall. If that works, then you have an extra card you can eBay off.

That's what you get for buying Alienware, though.

Updating the BIOS should not have done that... If the video card still shows an image of course it has memory... Try an reinstall or another video card. Otherwise, do as PohTayToez said and reformat.

alright i will re-install

i think its just not detecting the card, and re-installing the drivers have not helped
"IF" i do get another card, would that mean i would have to get new everything else too, like processor, motherboard, that kind of stuff?
