I'm looking to buy a new monitor to replace my old 17" Dell, and I saw this one, and compared to other monitors of this size and price, it has the best specs I've seen. With that being said, is there any other monitor for about the same price (but not smaller in size) that you would consider better? The main reason I'm replacing my old monitor is so I can play my Xbox360 in HD widescreen, I could almost care less about using it for my computer; that also means I have to spend about $50 to use it with my Xbox360 ($40 for the VGA cables plus $3 for the audio adapter). And I'd also like the speakers built in, because my old speakers are starting to die, and since my computer is in the corner of a large room, there's no point in getting surround sound.

did you even bother to read the reviews D: It's a horrible monitor and the title is lying. It says '1080p' while the highest resolution is 1680x1050. Don't go with it.

I know it doesn't display 1080p, and I'm fine with it. It can accept it even if it can't display it, and 720p is good enough for me. And I could care less about DVI, I don't have any DVI ports (b/c I have integrated graphics and don't plan on upgrading), so it could fail on me if it wants to, I'm always going to be using the VGA port. From most of the reviews, they said it had good quality picture and no dead pixels. If you still really think it's a bad monitor, then recommend me a good one within the same price range.
EDIT: I've found this monitor, which seems to be good, especially for the Xbox 360: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824252008

The first link was a monitor for $330 ($310 after rebate), and although it's a good monitor, I'd rather try to get a bigger monitor at that price. And as for the second one, it's also good, but I'd like to buy the monitor, along with the 360 VGA cable (which is on sale on NewEgg), and new speakers (which aren't at Fry's) at NewEgg.

The CHIMEL and the SAMSUNG are a real good to pick from, they both will do 1080i/p through vga/dvi
WaFFlez the monitor with 1680by1050 can do 1080i/p (but i know it is not ture 1080i/p) all it dose is convert the signal down to fit the screen. you CAN'T even see a difference |

Quote:
1080p/i means it displays 1920x1080. Period. having it downscaled or displaying fewer pixels does not make it justified if it's advertised as such. oh and @kof, I almost was gonna buy that, and then I realized it was a refurb...you think it's worth sticking with a 20" widescreen viewsonic with 1000:1 for $200 or ordering this instead?
