Ok, so I finally built my new computer and got it running. The problem I am having is installing Windows Vista 64-bit.
When I first attempted the install it got past the first "checkmark" but then it stopped. Or so it seemed at my buddy restarted the machine. The problem I am now having is when I start up the machine again with the Vista DVD inside it almsot immediately goes black and will not go anywhere. What I think is that since it was restarted during the installation of the OS it has a portion of it still on the HDD. I am currently on linux (running from a CD) and I need to know what to do so that I don't need to install linux first and would like to fully install Vista. Thanks. JFJ

Try formatting the drive from your Live CD and start over?
