Hey.
I have a Voodoo M:860 laptop. Specs: AMD Athlon 64 3700+ ATI Radeon Mobility 9700 60GB hard drive 1gb memory For a while now my laptop has been crashing.. usually when I'm doing CPU intensive things like gaming. For a while I thought it was overheating. I was told by Voodoo to reapply thermal paste. So I did, and it stopped crashing for a few months. After a while it started crashing again. So, I would reapply thermal paste and it would stop crashing. Now however, it keeps crashing even with new thermal paste. I'm not so sure its overheating. Sometimes I will turn it on and it will crash right when I get into windows. But, mostly it crashes when I am using firefox or playing games. Before it crashes, something starts spinning a lot faster (not sure if it is the fans or the hard drive). I have tried lots of things to fix it. I have reapplied thermal paste, cleaned out the fans and make sure they work, ran a chkdsk on my hard drive, taken one memory stick out and ran with the other.. waited for a crash... then use the other one. It still crashes.. Anyone got any ideas? Nick |
