Hey guys I'm building a computer for the first time and was wondering what sound card to get? Any recommendations would be appreciated.

How about an Asus P4P800-E Deluxe if you are going with AGP and the P5GD1 for PCIx.Those look like nice boards with good onboard audio.

You can always get the classic Audigy 2 ZS ... cant really go too wrong there

Yes the Audigy2-ZS is the way to go atm for damn near superb sound.

Also the fact that they are dirt cheap doesn't hurt.
