Default Internet Trouble need help

In the last few weeks the wireless internet in my house has not been working well I am getting only 200kbps down and 60 kbps up sometimes it is where it is supposed to be at which is around 1100kbps. The wired computer works fine it gets around 1400 kbps down and 200 kps up. My ISP is Frontier DSL and it sucks my dad has been thinking of swtiching to mediacom cable 5mbps.

Does anybody know what is wrong it only happens on the three wireless laptops and desktops when I am on the Internet and I am refrehing pages going to differnet sites sometimes it wont load or it takes forever but so far the wired computer is fine.

The wireless router is from frontier so I dont know what brand it is but we rent it from them for 5$ a month.

Any help is appreciated.

Reset your router, see if that helps for a few hours. It is a router problem, not a an isp problem.

Well seeing that the wired computer works fine and it happening only on 3 wireless computers it is your wireless setup or routers wireless hardware.
first off how are your wireless connection EG " poor , good , very good "
maybe move one of your laptops close to the router and see if this helps.
you maybe getting interference or your systems are to far from your router.

Walls and other object can affect your wireless speeds so give that a try and
let us know what happens

On all the laptops and my desktop the connection says it is excellent. But I noticed now I did another test it is back to normal but it always seems to go bad and stop working at night at least that is when I notice it.

if you have any cordless phones, microwaves, fridges, TVs etc... in the line of the signal try moving them, or the computer...

you could also make sure that the drivers are all up to date on the wireless cards and the firmware is up to date on the router, this can help quite a bit

The phones are all at 5.8GHz so they shouldnt interfere with the signal. Nothing is in the line of the signal. The firmware is up to date on my desktop and it still has trouble at night I am using a linksys wireless adapter on my desktop.
