Default mothers laptop??

my mom has an acer laptop thats a couple months old. The speakers sounded fine but now they sound like your in a tunnel. i thought it could have been the speakers so i plugged in some other speakers and the same thing. does anybody know what the problem is? Im sure its simplei just cant figure it out.lol

A little more specfic, when you say tunnel do you mean like a very flat sound? Or do you mean like a very rumblely sound. Your best be is to reinstall the drivers with the disc that came with laptop. If you post the model of laptop and the sound that is on it, that would be useful too. If you don't have the disc that came with laptop, go to Acer's website and check support for drivers and updates.

Many sound cards have these stupid settings that give you "hall" and "concert" effects. It can sound like an echo has been added to the audio. Maybe you could look for such settings. Sometimes they'd be somewhere in the control pannel, other times just a program in the Start > Programs menu.

its not a bad idea to first check for new drivers. most good manufacturers have a support/downloads page on their site with driver updates and stuff.

Go to control panel then find the speaker manufactures icon and mess around with the settings.
