If the drivers are available for XP you'll be good. I don't know the configuration of your HD but do you have a second partition available for XP? If you have a second partition keep C: for Vista and choose the other one for XP.

If you ever want to change the way the DualBoot is presenting itself i suggest that you use VistaBoot Pro which is free: http://www.vistabootpro.org/

You can rename the OS, change the default (Vista for XP or vice versa) and it's a great tool to have.
