yes it should be able to play it on max settings according to the system requirements for the game if u add another gig of ram

but it will play it like it is on normal settings

as for other games im not 100% sure each game has different requirements.. whats ur computer budget?

I think you could play BF2142 on that system but it would be a slow. Every aspect of that system is gimped it seems to me, that is if you are wanting to play games on it. If your budget allows it upgrade the GPU, Mobo, and CPU (I'm not too familiar with AMD and the way they do things, but I think your on the low end). More RAM would be a nice asset to you as well. But if it is a back to school computer and your using it for studies, then its a great one Hope this helps.

Well, my budget is around 500-700.
Iv'm just a kid, and I have to make all of my own money, so 700 is already the most I would ever spend on anything in my life (So far at least).

The computer we use is a crappy Mac Mini that plays literally nothing, and I wan't a PC (I hate mac) because almost everything works on PCs, and almost nothing works on Macs. Haha

So can you guys reccomened a somwhat cheap gaming computer?

In order to play the game at the recommended resolution, detail and performance levels, your computer should match or exceed the following specifications:
  • Operating system: Windows XP with latest service pack installed
  • DirectX 9.0c February 2006 edition (included)
  • CPU: Intel Pentium 4/AMD Athlon 3.0 GHz or equivalent
  • RAM: 1.5GB
  • Video Card: 256MB DirectX compliant video card, Pixel shader 2.0 and above. (AGP and PCIe only)
  • Sound card: Sound Blaster X-Fi series from Creative Labs
  • Hard Drive space: 2.2GB of space is required to install the game
  • Internet connection: 512Kbit Cable/DSL connection
i dont know if thats max or not but thats the reccomended specs..

ur missing a half a gig of ram

Lol, I'm new to computers (I was an avid 360 gamer until it broke for the 4th time and then I sold it), so how much would one be that could play it? If you can too, could you please link me to it or name it?

Thanks!

unfortunately gaming requires a lot of power from a PC. you should look for something with a newer dual core processor (something like a core2duo), at least 1GB RAM (2gb would see a noticeable improvement), and maybe a 7900GS video card. that would play any game out today on decent settings. you just have to shop around, i recommend cyberpowerpc.com. you have started at least 3 threads asking the same question, and i have responded in all of them saying that if you want a gaming computer for under $700 you are going to need to build it yourself. unfortunately there is no getting around it. i believe you said your dad knew about building computers, so maybe he could help you. if you think this might be an option, im sure people here could post some recommendations for a nice build. just keep in mind that building your own computer has risks. there are no overall warranties for the whole PC, if something breaks you have to figure it out yourself. also, you have to get an operating system. things like that

a good DX10 card like an 8800GTS or if u want to spend more for a noticably better gpu an 8800GTX is the way to go
