Hey guys,
I've looked all over newegg reading reviews but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. I recently bought the D-Link WDA-2320 Rangebooster for my desktop (running vista) but had to return it because the card wasn't compatible. All the cards I seem to find on newegg that are vista compatible seem to have bad reviews. So does anyone here know of any good wireless network cards compatible with vista? Preferably PCI slot but PCI-E will do as well. Thanks! |

You have to take Neweggs reviews with a grain of salt. Newegg is a fine company. I buy exclusively from Newegg. The reviews, well they are helpfull
..you also have to take into account .1 EXPERTISE LEVEL OF THE USER WRITTING THE ARTICLE 2. SOME PEOPLE HATE EVERYTHING 3. WAS THEIR OS INFECTED OR BORKED THEN UP GRADED The third happens more times then not. As a tech I would see it all the time. Someones pc starts running slow so they think maybe i need an upgrade. Then the upgrade either crashes and burns or never works right. I am not a big fan of OS upgrades. I like to lay down a fresh copy of an OS on a hard drive that has been wiped clean, wiping the boot sector too. Think of this what if you buy a new car and they take your motor, trans, wiring out of your old car and put it in your new car. So when you do the upgrade you are transferiing possibly flakey drivers and who knows what else. this looks like a good card, I always get what ever it is if there are a few ppl that say they like it. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16833122134 hope this helps oh yeah you may also want to check other vista cards, this was just the first i came too. Also look on the manufacturers web site for newer driver upgrades.

Ya, that was one of the cards I was looking at. The only thing holding me back from getting it were the reviews. I read into it more though and it seems like it would be a decent enough card so that's what I'm going to get.
It is atheros based too, so that's a plus ![]() Thanks for the info |

... No one is going to release a flakey hardware item, especially netgear. Maybe some unknown company. Newegg is really good about taking stuff back too. I do not think you will have any trouble out of the card as long as you did not upgrade from a borked OS.
