Default avast! + vista

I just installed the latest version of avast antivirus on vista ultimate and its been detecting viruses/trojans/etc... in programs Ive used for years and never had a problem with. stuff like WinDVD, Unit Converter, and other innocent programs Ive had for a while on XP. any guess as to the cause of this? thanx

Webroot's Spy Sweeper does the same thing by placing imaginery items there and stating you need to buy the retail version to see them fixed. AVG went on Vista and runs quite well here. Apparently that's another complaint heard about Avast lately.

Just before the latest build came out for AVG's 7.5 free version now 7.5410 or something like that nothing was seen. That told me the version was completely compatible only to see the newer build come out shortly afterwards. The latest version of Avast you have is probably seeing the older XP geared programs as viruses due to the older coding in them. Trying a few other programs like AVG and others will show if you did manage to pick up something along the way.
