so i have an acer aspire 5100 laptop dual core amd the whole deal, but the problem is i had the hard drive replaced once and now about a month into a new hard drive, my computer takes forever to startup to operating windows. it will load and u seriously have to wait 10 minutes before u can open any programs and it takes forever for programs to open on startup. it was NEVER like this before. also i am getting blue screens of death some dont say anything and one said Kernel inpage error or something and i really need help. it wont let me defrag because it says the drive may be corrupt and disk check takes a long long time to complete which also never used to happen. ANY! help would be greatly appriciated.

The only suggestion is to possibly reformat, although it may not fix your problem, it's just a trial and error elimination process you have to go through. You could always send it back to Acer. But it looks like it may be one of two things. Dodgy Operating System install or a faulty hard disk drive. Why not try to repair Windows using the Windows repair feature on the install CD? Although I'm not sure if CD's from people such as Acer, dell etc come with the feature a stand alone OS CD would.
Breaks.

yah ive been thinking its either the hard drive or windows as i know its not a virus. im not sure how to try and repair windows as i do not have the windows disk because they loaded it with windows media center edition 2005 at the acer factory last time i got the hard drive replaced. i used acer restore last night and it restored back to the acer defaults and now i get fast startup speeds and everything but im still getting random blue screens of death, and now all of a sudden at startup i get failure fixed disk message then press f1 to continue or f2 to setup and i click continue and it doesn't startup. and when i do get to the windows screen now, it says the system will shut down in 1 minute because a process was termined or something it was something to do with the networking cause it doesnt shut down in safe mode but it shuts down in safe mode with networking on. as u can tell this computed is really messed up.
