Default forwarding emails won't include attachments

I just purchased a new computer and seem to be having trouble with some of my friends emails when I try to forward the an email with attachments. My email is Hotmail. The person I email mail to will get the email, but no attachments will come up or even be included with the email. Any suggestions or ideas.

That's odd if it shows that it sent ok. What size are the attachments? are you using outlook express or are you sending directly from your hotmail account at hotmail.com? Also what are the attachments? hotmail will block certain attachments if it thinks that they may be malicous.

Edit:

What you could do is set up a second email account and send yourself a few email and see if the attachments are going. You may find that hotmail is indeed blocking them but your friend's are not noticing it.

I'm using my Hotmail account. When I receive the emails, they open for me just fine. I'd think if Hotmail is blocking the going out they would certainly block them from coming in. If I send the email to 5 people, maybe only 1 or 2 won't receive the attachments. I might try the second account, but as I stated, some of the people can receive the attachments with no trouble, so I'm not sure of the Hotmail blocking idea, but at this point, I'm open to all suggestions Thanks

Not necesarily no.

Real sorry I missed that somehow ;-). I would say then dont even think twice about it then as it's not your fault because others get the attachments.

Do you have an email scanner on your anti-virus software? If so, you could be putting viruses on the attachments without knowing it, and the scanner could automatically be blocking them.

It sounds like to me that it's on the end of some of the recipients and not his as others are getting the attachments that he sends while others dont. Commen sense would tell me that he is able to send out attachments succesfully.

It totally depends on the mail server for the recipient. If you try to send certain files, like .doc or .exe it will not always let them through since that type of file will support a virus. You should try putting them into a zip file. This is what is needed to get past many of the mail filters.

I appreciate all the input and suggestions, but I'm not that computer literate. All I'm trying to do is forward an email that I receive from one friend to several other friends and have the attachments open. I'd like to think that the problem is on the receivers end and not on mine, cause some of the people I send it to, receive it with no problems. I really don't know how to use Zip, or get into my hotmail and check for viruses. I think I'll just tell them that they need to check there blockers, cause I can receive the emails. I do have Norton Anti-virus, Norton firewall and e-pest patrol (that I think is some kind of spyware) . Maybe one of these programs is causing it, but I would not know how to check. So thanks for all the help and I'm glad I found this site. I sure I'll be back to learn more about computer and programs.
