Well the G.Skill ram has treated me very nicely, but yeah you don't need it.
I have used Kingston for several years before this build and it is very trust worthy.
So sense it will put you back in the budget I would go with the kingston ram Yeti recommended.

As for the power supply, both me and oscar use it and so far neither I or him has experienced any problem with it both running mid-range setups. And for a 585watt psu for only $28 it is an excellent price and choice. The best other PSU I could find was like a 350-400watt antec for $40 .
