Video Editing Software?

Here lately ive been getting in to some video editing and I do not have a dvd burner on my laptop and the soft ware on the home CPU dosent have a good program on it that has a wide variety of video formats that it will take. Could anyone please recommend a software that has a wide variety of video formats that it will take and make. The softwares that I'm using right now are WinDVD and Roxio's MyDVD LE. I would like to get away from these programs. I would need the program to work with Sony Handycams format which is .vob and I would like it to make a formay like mpeg4 or .wmv or something like that so it can be put on my Mp3 player which is a Zune and also on Myspace or something like that. Any help at all would be appreciated.

I use Premiere Pro 2 and TMPGEnc DVD Author 3 for most everything I do.
