Not really since you can easily end up seeing flaky keys on an old or cheaply made keyboard where you have to pound keys to get anywhere.

Cordless keyboards on the other hand can easily see problems when first trying to install Windows even with Vista. A corded model is always advised until the system is up and running to then see the software for any cordless model installed later.
