hi
![]() I have a little problem. I just bought a cable to connect my laptop to my TV. I want to be able to watch stuff that i play on windows media player on a TV screen rather than my small laptop screen. So i hooked up the cable, clicked control panel > display > settings and ticked the box that says extend my windows desktop onto this monitor. This is where the problem lies. I dont see any of the icons on my TV, all i can see is the wallpaper. I opened windows media player and played something but still all i see on the TV is my laptop's wallpaper. Im no good at computers as u all would have guessed by now so any help would be appreciated

You need to make the 2nd monitor (tv) primary so you will have all your icons/start bar ect. on your tv....as it is now you can drag windows onto your tv.
Just right click the monitor 1 or 2 under properties and select primary

you could have made it work as it was before. just drag your windows outside of your laptop screen and onto your TV as you set up in the display properties.

to drag display to telly just "Right-click" desktop-->"properties"-->"settings"
and enable your secondary display.when enabled you can just drag any window to the edge of your primary monitor until it appears on the other i have problems with that also, well not big problems i can display my 2nd output to telly but it's garbled, and grainish..i think i have to change to pal or ntsc or something
