Default temp files

This means temporary files, right? I went in there and there were lots of files there, should i delete them? Also, what is this folder used for exactly? Are these files automatically deleted?

they get deleted periodically. that is where your internet browser stores everything you download from the internet. keep in mind everytime you visit a website you are downloading that information (pictures, text, code). sometimes deleting the temp files can speed up your browsing experience, sometimes it can slow it down. but you cannot do any harm by deleting the files.

Interesting a friend of mine came around to help me with my computer. He gave me a disc clean software to use once a month and a c cleaner software to use once a year. When he was here he was deleting lots of files, maybe temp files, could he have known my user names on websites? This is something I have worried about or what I was writing about?
