i wanna compare xp wit ubuntu from my point of view. is there a way to do it n if so how.

Well to compare it from your point of view, you will have to try both OS's out (that is install them and use them) personally and make the comparison.

Sorry if that sounds glib, but that would be the answer to the question as you have posed it.

I would try LiveCD before ever installing to hd.

sry bout that it was a tad bit too narrow. wat i meant to say was that i wanna try it on the same computer. so yea i wanna partion it.
i learned how to partion it one time but it was so long ago i forgot how n i heard that if u do it the wrong way u can srcew ur whole system up.
so basically how to partion it lol

This is good advice generally when trying a new distribution, but it won't give you an accurate comparison of Operating Systems because the LiveCD will run slower than a HD install.
