Intel's first 45nm processor will be a quad-core Core 2 Extreme and it going to be launched in the fourth quarter of this year priced at US$999. The processor will have a clock speed of 3.33GHz, 1333MHz FSB and 12MB L2 cache Soon after the the launch of quad-core Extreme, intel will launch two additional quad cores having 1333 FSB and 12MB cache And in the first half of 2008, intel will launch another four 45nm dual-core processors. Three of them will have 1333MHz FSB and 6MB cache, and one remaining will have a 1066MHz FSB and 3MB L2 Cache. |

Thats not really that expensive, seeing as how the QX6800 costs $1300 on Newegg now.

Production of the QX6800's were limited to a production of like 1,200 I read somewhere. Newegg probably sold all the ones they had.

Personally I dont know why people would buy them, they are practically identical to the QX6700. They both have unlocked multipliers, so all you need to do is raise the multiplier up one on the QX6700, and you have a QX6800 and you saved nearly $400!

when the QX6850 comes out it is supposed to be 1500-1800 USD , there are already alot of previews for it on the net
