I've serviced them before and they are not fun. They have somewhat good specs but the support is something that could be improved.

I would do alot of price comparison. that is the same case Alienware, Sager, etc use for their highend laptops. Similar specs too.

Might also wanna look at an Acer laptop, they make some very nice ones for like 1500$. (same with emachines)

Well only a few outspec them but that's not why I said they were lacking. Servicing these laptops are like servicing Viao's. If you don't have the disk or if you loose anything, you're screwed.
