I've never priced them but you should really go with the modems that area available when you sign up for an account as it will help with future service if there is a problem.

Do you live in the US? Check ebay.... I just looked and there are several hundred on there for sale. Otherwise, look for a deal at your local computer supply store, and look for one with a rebate, if you are short on cash.
