dude, you get a modem when you sign up for dsl connestion, generally $25-$65/month. The DSL company gives you a modem.

Sometimes they give you one, but that never happened to me.
They might have "rented" one to me for some money though.

They might rent it to you as long as you use them

Hard to understand this question the way the sentence is structured but I sounds as though your looking on the back of your pc and not seeing any place to plug in for a dsl connection?

Anyhow you need two very important and necessary components for the connection. Firstly you need an ethernet card (this may be onboard already) Secondly the modem which plugs into this ethernet connection. I've never priced them but you should really go with the modems that area available when you sign up for an account as it will help with future service if there is a problem.

Do you live in the US? Check ebay.... I just looked and there are several hundred on there for sale. Otherwise, look for a deal at your local computer supply store, and look for one with a rebate, if you are short on cash.

Nononononono! Sign up for service first, some, if not most let you use one of theirs. If not, ask them what you should get, don't just go areound and randomly buy one
