Talking I have been using hotmail for years but want to transfer

I have been using hotmail for years but want to transfer to a different account so I can use Outlook to gather email. Can you reccomend a good free email hoasting company. Also I am a member of many forums and web mailing lists, what is the best way to go about informing them of my change of email address?

many thanks

you can use gmail for a new email service it supports pop3 and you can use a normal mail client.
so do you like want to transfer all your old hotmail mails to the new one ?

yes, but I'm recon I'll have to keep checking back to hotmail for a couple of years to make sure I don't miss any important emails. It could be a pain trying to inform all my suscriptions about my change. Do you think gmail will always remain pop3?
