Default Is a physics card really necessary?

Title says it all. Is a physics card really necessary with a dual core processor and a geforce 8800 gtx? Becides, if I eventualy run in SLI mode I'm not sure I will have the space on my mobo for it anyways...haha, so I suppose it's a simple question, is a physics card necessary?

PS: not sure what topic this was supposed to go under, so MOD's feel free to move, thanks.

In my opinion, no. There's only a few games that support the card, and from what I've seen, it doesn't make a huge difference in gameplay. I just don't see it being worth it.

i would actualy buy one because i think soon more games will require one like cellfactor revolution does already.

i hear you can only play 2 maps on Cellfactor without PPu so it is needed.

It's worthless. I have one and there are only a select few games that support it, but you can barely notice the difference with and without one. So I would say no, dont get it.

personally i would say the creation of the 8800 vid card and SLi have trumped the need for a physics card

and 1 game doesn't justify the need (to the millions that don't play that game) to buy one

It depends on your build also, i mean with your build i doubt there's a need for one. But for a lesser build with a less potent CPU / GPU I'm sure that it would help alot on games like JTF and other PPu compatible games.

if you must have all the goodies and you're not on a budget then go ahead and get one.
