Default Best Webcam/Video chat Software?

Hello,

What is the best or most used video chat software where you can use microphones and webcams to talk to people? I was thinking skype, but im not sure if they are the best for video.

Also, what is the best way to get nice smooth video feeds rather than laggy patchy pictures like you get through msn etc?

Hi Tobywuk, I've no answer for you but I am also in the same situation so will be interested in any replies. Could I add on another question to your thread and that is - Is there any one program that can talk to all or must both persons have the same?

Please reply to Tobywuk as I don't want to give the impression of hijacking his thread.

Cheers

the laggy patchy pictures like you get through msn depends on your webcam and the light. The light is very important.
