i left my house for a night over at my friends house, and i bought a new game, when i came back, i can't install it because i can't find the dvd rom or the cd RWin " my computer"... meaning they don't even display in "my computer". like i can see Disk c, d, andG, and floppy disk, but can't see the dvd rom or the cd rw i have... help.. i think my dad was fiddling around with the pc

o, ya, and i opened the computer to see if the connection is good.
btw my dvd-r is hl-dt-st dvd-rom gdr8161b
and cd rw is cyber drv cw058d cd-r/rw

Those "HL" drives are total crap, no offense. This computer is a Dell, eh? In my Dad's Dell he had an HL drive and I reinstalled drivers twice after removing the drivers, I checked BIOS and it even didn't read it. I unplugged the connections and wiggled the wires, tried new cables, what else? I just unplugged it and I had a 2nd Samsung drive in it that runs like a dream, I just use that and not the HL.

ok, so my mom confesed, she was fiddling with the cdrw writing sh*t and the pc froze, when she turned it back on, they disappeared... and its not a dell its a pc my dad bought from china, it ran good before, but they just disappeared.... u only explained the dvd r what about the cd rw???

Ooh...both of them are MIA, oh crap.....try hunting down the drivers and reinstall them, that would be all I know to do.
