Mic Will Not Work Help Please

Hello just over the last couple of days my mic has not been working atall.. I don't know what is wrong with it.. I unmute the mic in volume control to hear myself talk but not even that works.. Do you know any other way i could see where the problem is? I do have skype installed too but have checked all settings there.

are u sure tht the mic is ok? consider a replacement...
