I keep googling, but no luck. I'm looking for a webpage that will tell me what my internet bandwidth is for no charge whatsoever, with no software to download except Flash or some other common software (every "free" test I find makes me download their programs). I know something like this exists because I've had been to one before; I just can't remember the webpage. Does anyone know?

The reason you divide by 8 is because your speed is rated in kilobits, not kilobytes. 8 bits equal 1 byte.
The reason you're only getting half your speed can be caused by many things.. If DSL another user, TCP may not be optimized, etc. |

Transmission Control Protocol. The protocol most computers use to connect to the internet (TCP/IP).. Along with DHCP and a mess of other acronyms.
This may be able to help you. (don't sue me )http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php |
