Default Ram Upgrade - Please help!

Hi
I am looking to upgrade the memory in my Pentium IV since I only have a 256mb stick of Kingston Ram. I was thinking of buying a 512mb stick of the same type to add on to the existing 256mb. My motherboard support Ram of up to pc2700 (333mhz) so I was pained to find out that my existing Ram is only PC2100. Now I am in the dilema of just purchasing a stick of pc2700 512mb and ditching the existing memory or keep the existing memory and buy a stick of pc2100 512mb ram. Which option would be the best 512mb pc2100 or 768mb pc2100?

Thanks in advance

Is the difference between pc2100 and 2700 that big?
Does it reallly warrant the less ram?

its effectively 266MHz vs 333MHz, weather the extra speed is worth it is up to you. What do you use your comouter for? Do you do anyhing that would realistically need more than 512MB of RAM?

I use the computer mainly for media stuff like music and films and a lot of net surfing and downloading. I can see what you guys mean about the speed difference but i thought the extra ram would make up for it.

Since nothing there is explicitly bandwidth intensive, go for the capacity

no need for coins , adding a 512MB stick of PC2100 will be better, for what you said you will be doing the extra speed from PC2700 is borderline useless.
