Default Epson R260 problem.....

I bought a brand new one from ebay.
Followed the instructions and never got it to work.
The green power light flashes and the red ink light stays on.

So epson sent me a new one by mail.

Now this one does the exact same thing.

I am very handy, I've owned a couple of printers and even build my own desktop. I know how to follow directions.
I am doing everything by the book exactly as it states in the instructions manual.

I don' t know what to do.
I just want to throw them out my balcony both out my balcony and buy something more useful.

Has this ever happened to anyone.
There are three buttons on the printer.
Power (left) Ink (middle) paper (right)

The green power light flashes repeatedly &
The red ink light stays on

No matter what I do, if I take out the cartridges, or install them, if I turn off the printer, or unplug it, if I press the ink button, it will just move for a second and do the same thing.

I never got to print not one thing with these 2 printers.

I've tried talking to epson, they have great customer service but are not familiar with their own products.
I've tried all the trouble shooting steps, they are useless.

I am now searching for someone that had the same problem.
Thanks alot

Sorry for writing so much.

So the ink light stays on? Is there even ink in there? I had an Epson printer before, it used an chip that was on the ink connected to the printer to measure how much ink was in there. Try cleaning the contacts...
