Default Ddr2 > Ddr400 ?

Hello, well I am abit outdated when it comes to computer hardware.
I havent been on since 2005

Could someone tell me the exact differences between the ddr400 ram and the ddr2
-perfomance
-quality

Would I need to update my ram? Twinmos ddr400 x2 512mb

I know I know I have red the Ram 101 thread's
