Default Logitech G15 Keyboard Driver

I just purchased a new logitech g15 keyboard. I got it today and i am really excited. one problem. It doesnt work. when i hook it up windows says "Found New Hardware" and asks me for the driver which i dont have since logitech doesnt provide it on thier cd or even on thier website. so, i cant use my new toy. Is it possible that my logitech mx3000 cordless desktop (keyboard + mouse) is interfereing? Is there an actual driver only file that someone on the forum can give me?

All help is appreciated,

You did install the software before plugging in the keyboard right?

99% of the time you should install the hardware first, and then the software. There are very few things that should be done the other way around, and a USB plug and play device is not one of them.

Here are the drivers:
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/434/180&cl=us,en

Very few manufacturers do not have the drivers on their site.

But it should work without the drivers... all the drivers do is let you use the G buttons and the LCD and shortcut buttons up top. If it's not letting you just plug and play, I would try to uninstall anything that has to do with your previous keyboard. Also, when you plug it in, it should take a minute or two before it is usable, so make sure you are waiting long enough before deciding that there is some problem.

Sorry you are right. Turns out my keyboard is in that 1% which requires you to pop in the disc first.

Well I'm guessing that's your problem right there. If you still have the receiver in, then it's still trying to use your wireless as your keyboard, it probably just thinks that it is out of range.

And yeah, I've never encountered (although I'm sure there are some) a keyboard or mouse that you couldn't just plug in and go. As far as keyboards and mice are concerned, drivers are only used for other features that fall outside of your normal keyboard and mouse uses.

What operating system are you using?

I am using WinXP MCE. I plugged my G15 in, it recognized it, and I installed the driver, so I could enable the extra programmable keys.

Turn off your computer, unplug the receiver and plug in the G15 and your old mouse and see if that works.
