Default For CS:S Server....

I plan on making a dedicated CS:S server some time... What OS should I get? Vista Home Basic or XP Home?

Thanks

They are both consumer level OS's, think of Home Basic as Home, just with a few Vista features. None are geared towards networking or being a server.

But if your only creating a CSS server for a few people, either one will work.

BTW, what type of internet connection do you have? Don't expect to host more then a couple people if you only have DSL or Cable.

Get XP. Windows Vista Home Basic, Is really a friendly user interface with few features Vista has to offer. With XP, Everything is there. I have a T1 TCP/IP with Bell South.

Well, as for connection right now, I have Verizon's highest available DSL. FioS is coming and I will be getting that, I might even upgrade to the FioS that has 5Mbps Upload. Or I might put in two phone lines with DSL. It depends, My Upload now hangs around 700Kbps. Pretty good, I estimate a 16 player server. I plan on hosting a website with Apache, too. I have the space and money to do it, just not much time I will probably just get XP Pro.... What do you guys think?
My Server is going to be mATX with the following
MSI G33 mATX board
E6550
WD SE 160Gb
2Gb of Corsair ValueSelect 667mhz
X1300PRO or 7600GT Vid card
I will get it up and running, then just connect with Remote Assistance..
